چکیده
We provide a comprehensive overview of transversely polarized $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}$ production at the future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). In particular, we study both spontaneous transverse polarization as well spin transfer within momentum dependent (TMD) factorization region. To describe polarization, consider contribution from TMD polarizing fragmentation function (TMD PFF). e+A physics at a future Electron-Ion Collider
s = 63 158 (40 110) GeV/A for e+p (e+A) collisions. Whilst gluon distributions have been studied extensively in nucleons at HERA, there is very little information on them for x < 0.1 in nuclei. The rapid increase in the gluon momentum distribution at low-x in nucleons found at HERA, if not tamed, leads to the violation of the Froissart Unitarity Bound at small-x. This can be achieved in non-lin...
متن کاملThe Electron-Ion Collider
The future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) is a proposed new facility to collide high-energy electrons with beams of polarized protons/light nuclei and unpolarized nuclei. We overview the goals of the project and key measurements at the EIC. We also briefly comment on recent developments of the project.
متن کاملAn Electron-Ion Collider at Jefferson lab
As explained in the oral presentation [1], the original plans for an electron-ion collider (ELIC) at Jefferson Lab involved the construction of two figure-of-eight rings, intersecting at up to four collision points, with a proton energy of 30-225 GeV (30-100 GeV/A for ions up to Pb) and electrons (and positrons) from 3 to 9 GeV [2]. Since the construction of such a facility must await completio...
متن کاملOverview on the Future Electron-Ion Collider Projects
One of the large new projects envisioned for the future US nuclear physics program is the construction of a high-energy electron ion collider. The motivation for such a machine would be primary directed at the study of the nucleon spin structure using polarized light ions and the study of low x gluon distributions in heavy nuclei. Two candidates coming from the two large DOE nuclear physics fac...
متن کاملThe e+A programme at a future Electron-Ion Collider facility
At small x, the gluon distribution dominates the nuclear wave function. The increase needs to be tamed in avoid violating unitarity constraints. The most efficient way to study this in colliders is through e+A collisions as the nucleus is an efficient amplifier of the physics of high gluon densities. To this end, there are proposals to build an e+A machine in the USA which would operate over a ...
